Cadets

This year's Nippers and Cadets uniform includes the club swimming cap, pink rash vest, and goggles. Please note that goggles are a new addition for this season.

Introduction to Cadets

Our club offers a unique and rewarding Cadets program. While many know it as Cadets, it’s primarily focused on helping our young members attain their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC). This program introduces them to the essence of being a life saver, and can add value to their resumes and university applications.

Schedule & Uniform

Swim Test

All cadets will undergo a swim test during their first session. This is an essential step to ensure the safety and capability of all our young members.

SRC & Its Importance

The main objective for our cadets is to achieve their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC). Our trainers assist with each session to make sure all requirements are met. Achieving the SRC permits the cadets to participate in surf patrols, giving them a firsthand experience of what it means to be a lifesaver.

Leadership & Development

For those between the ages of 13-17 who might not be keen on the SRC, or for those who have already achieved it, we offer the opportunity to develop leadership skills as an Age Manager Assistant. This is a fantastic stepping stone before they reach the age of 15, where they can then work towards attaining the Bronze Medallion.

The primary role of our cadets and assistants is to bridge the transitional gap between the Nippers program and acquiring the Bronze Medallion.

Family Membership Benefits

For families who have opted for the family membership, you're welcome to utilise the club's facilities anytime a patrol is on. This includes access to bathrooms, showers, boards, and the BBQ. It’s a valuable package, especially if you frequent the beach and make use of the boards and BBQ. For details on patrol days and times, please refer to our website.
